Traffic lights...

Traffic lights have different meanings thoughout the globe - even though they are mosly the standard 3 colours of Red, Amber and Green (some just use Red and Green to save on bulbs)...

In Greece - green meant Go and Red meant pause and then Go anyway... in LA things are a little different...

RED
This means turn left infront of the oncoming traffic before they can set off - 1 and sometimes 2 cars can get though in this manner though car number 2 may suffer a loud bout of horn blowing...
It also means GO if you are in the right hand lane and you can safely turn right
In all other cases it does still mean STOP

AMBER
This means that RED is coming up fast... so hit the gas, smoke the back tires and shoot through the intersection before it turns RED. Watch out for guys turning left across the traffic though as this is the preferred time to turn left as opposed to on RED as mentioned above...

GREEN
This means WAIT... wait for the guys who are turning left in front of you to get across, give car number two a loud blow on the horn as you set off just ot let him/her know that it is OK to do that - but you have to pay the price...
