I've been having a lot of trouble getting folks to comprehend my name in coffee shops...
The name "Pete" seems to be a complete mystery to them and I have found coffee cups with "Keith" written on them before today... (that guy Keith was awfully mad when I walked out with his latte...)
It was suggested that I try "Peter" instead... this had little effect as the Americans say "Peder" so by pronouncing the 't' I throw them off completely...
I gave up and went back to "Pete" - LAX Starbucks lady crowned them all when she took my name - did not blink, flinch or ask any questions... good I thought... well done that girl...
The name on the cup was "Bit" - who in the hell is called "Bit"?????
I am apparently...
