... and the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle point five O" written on the side of mine, should precipitate your balls into shrinking, along with your presence...
Says Vinnie Jones in Snatch...
So obviously I had to walk in and ask for the Desert Eagle first off...
This was like my approach to the fairground - walk up to the biggest ride and jump straight on, no building up to it, go for maximum effect...
... So how did that work out then with this monster of a handgun..?
well... to be honest - I was nervous of it, no, more like scared of it...
The shells for this thing are monsters - look at the size of them compared to 9mm ammo...

and they gave me hollow tips too - just for effect I think...
So I did load up and then decide to fir a couple of rounds with Wes's 9mm 'to get the feel for it'
then in at the deep end...
Hold on TIGHT... gently squeeze the trigger... and... now possible to describe the next bit in words - BANG falls well short of it... The whole room seemed to rock and most of the guys in the range popped their heads out of their cubicles to see what the hell just went off...
Wes and Dave either side of me 'felt' it, I REALLY felt it... The recoil and the sound were overpowering.. so I decided to fire it again...
Round jammed.. OK, no messing about... put it down and go ask for help - this is too big to have it go off one handed...
This is what amazed me...
Some idiot walks in off the street (me) armed only with a Californian driers license and gets a Desert Eagle and a box of 20 to 'go play with' in the range... no supervision, no help on how to load it or hold it or where the safety is or anything...
pretty scary stuff
The gun was a pig - it jammed after every shot, it fired oil all over my white shirt (now ruined), the handle got all slippery (not what you want with this thing - two hands please - one a dry surface!) and felt like it had a grudge against me... so, to hell with that - I returned it after 6 shots and got something 'safer'
All in all we had a lot of fun shooting 9mm Glocks, Rugers, Berettas, 45mm Smith and Wessons, 357 magnums etc. etc.
I did spot a HUGE gun and inquired if it too show the awesome 5.0 ammo... no... this one has twice the power of the Desert Eagle... no more info needed - don't even bother to get that one down - far too scared to try that one...

More news next month when we all go back - Anita is coming too then - will keep her away from the Eagle...
It's all smiles until someone loses an eye...
