They really 'get' it here...

As most folks know - americans do not 'get' sarcasm - which leaves lots of opportunities for amusent for the rest of the world.

Some time ago there was an email sent round about the first american to 'get' sarcasm

it went something like this...

"I was in the UK recently and it was raining and this guy says to me 'nice weather'... and I thought - but it isn't it's raining... and then it dawned on me - he was being sarcastic!

I totally got it so i thought I would start to use it myself...

So I was like cooking up a BBQ the other week adn I totally burned the. burgers to shit and I aid to my friends...

'nice weather'..."

My mate proved this to me in San Fransisco recently - it was raining and we went into a diner - my mate said 'nice weather' and the waitress said

'you really think so..? - I prefer it when it is sunny'

how we laughed :-)

So I bought this sign which is on my desk now - a few of them have read it and laughed - but do they really 'get it'

I'm not so sure...

One guy even asked if he could join!
