I remember Baloo singing about the prickly pear in the Jungle Book... maybe these are what he was thinking of..?

I saw some for sale so I bought a couple to try... you just chop the ends off, peel away the skin and eat them...
Lots of seeds in there but they are edible - not the best taste in the world but worth a try
